Elecampane was a centerpiece in the Medicine Wheel Garden. Here she is in her Summer glory!
I waited till the 2nd year to dig the root and until it died back in the fall. The energy from the plant fully worked its way down into the root after the full moon of November.
My three year old son help me dig and was the photographer. Here I am carefully exposing the roots.
It took me about an hour to dig this root and it was well worth the effort!
Snip the roots away from the crown and scrub thoroughly. Next I will snip up the root into small pieces, tincture some and dry the rest!
